How did you become a part of the Skinny Water Culture Collective?
Several years ago a good friend of mine, Tyler Davis, introduced me to the clothing brand Skinny Water Culture, and I couldn’t get enough of the cool designs on all their gear. All I ever did growing up was fish saltwater, but it wasn’t until Tyler finished his college career that I really got into shallow water sight fishing. Shortly after I got hooked on fly fishing and then fly tying, and that really inspired me to buy all of the Skinny Water Culture gear I could afford because of the fly fishing and tying inspired designs. A tournament that was put on by Skinny Water Culture a little south of my neck of the woods is where I would meet Jenn and Vince for the first time and man what a pleasure it was. I had never met either of the two before yet they struck up a conversation with me and my fiancé like we had known them for years. Ever since that day we met Jenn and Vince I knew that they were genuine and good people and that is the type of business that I wanted to support. I am humbled to be a part of the collective and SWC family and I am excited for what the future may bring for Skinny Water Culture.
What are your hopes for the future of fishing?
The only hope that I have for the future of fishing is that there is a future for fishing and marine life in general. I hope that this generation wakes up and realizes what we are doing to our fragile and already damaged ecosystems. I want to be able to take my kids and eventually grandkids fishing and I hope people realize that in order for all of us to be able to do that we have to protect our valuable natural resources or there won’t be any left.
