How did you become a part of the Skinny Water Culture Collective?
Before I was given the opportunity to become part of the collective, I looked up to all the guys affiliated with SWC. They weren't only bad ass fishermen, they were focused on conservation and giving back to the fishing community. I met Vince at the first Poonfecta micro tarpon tournament and we realized we shared a passion for fly fishing and fished some of the same local tarpon scumponds and ditches. I'm extremely grateful to be part of a local brand that makes great clothes, and more importantly, gives back to the community whenever possible.
What are your hopes for the future of fishing?
My primary concern is the health of our water here in Florida. As many know, there are several environmental disasters occurring right now in the state. We seem to be heading the right direction towards a solution and I sincerely hope it stays that way. Fly fishing is my passion, and part of that passion is being immersed in nature. Another hope I have is that more young people become interested in fly fishing. I wish that I had been more interested in fly fishing than less healthier activities when I was a teenager. Being passionate about something that involves conservation and being outside could do a lot of good for our youth.
