How did you become a part of the Skinny Water Culture Collective?
I began fly fishing around three years ago when I watched a video of the legend Blair Wiggins catching tarpon on the fly. I was astonished at not only the art, but the challenge behind it, and the conclusive reward of landing a fish. The first piece of fly related gear that I purchased was a SWC snapback from Captain Pete's in Naples Florida. I had noticed that SWC was highly talked about on social media, and enjoyed their image and line of clothing. Shortly after, I noticed a text from Vince Stegura, whom at the time, I had never even spoken to. I immediately called him, and talked for a very long time. He explained that he was interested in having me be a part of his company's vision, and I knew this would be a decision that could change my life. In my opinion, the SWC crew is a family, not a group of salesmen, and that is something that truly stands out making them unbelievably unique. After countless shows and SWC events, I can sincerely say that I am thankful for becoming part of this amazing group. I have learned to stay humble, selfless, developed everlasting relationships, and wake up every morning proud of the brand I am representing.
What are your hopes for the future of fishing?
I hope that someday, I can develop a career related to fishing, and have the SWC family by my side throughout the entire journey. As of right now, my minor goals of crossing off fish on a fly rod and spreading this amazing passion to others will continue until the day I die.
