Spring is in the air…

by Adam April 09, 2013

Spring is definitely here and the carp are enjoying it as much as I am. The warmer temperatures draw them to the surface where they slowly cruise, or lay up like tarpon. This is my absolute favorite scenario. It calls for unconventional tactics and thus the vast majority of carp anglers ignore these fish all together thinking that they are uncatchable. I think its funny because I catch 80% of my fish in this fashion. Presenting a fly to these fish can be highly productive once you get the hang of things. Yes its a little bit harder and requires some exceptional casting accuracy… but who doesn’t want to hone their skills?

Not a single one of these fish pictured here was actively feeding when they ate my fly…
