Like most of us,I had been in direr need of a good vacation for some time. Leaving behind all the pressure of everyday living and putting down the buggywhip for a few days of true R and R. After some sorting and brain storming with my significant other we decided to head out West and pay Southern California a visit and family that’s out there. With everything arranged for our stay we where on our way for a 5 day trip to SoCal.
Our decent into LAX
First stop Vince Beach. This place is out there. Its a combination of Ocean Drive in South Beach with a large pinch of the early 70’s Hippie movement.
Next stop Santa Monica. Great area. Up beat, friendly people and beautiful back drop.
Santa Monica Pier.
I wish we had smooth sea’s like SoCal. Light breeze and clear skies.
A true West Coast sunset. Colors where amazing. This picture does not do justice for the iridescent colors that were radiating from the horizon.
Food was pretty good with a wide variety of choices.
Decided to wake up at the butt crack of dawn and scale a mountain side in search of mountain Lions. Oh yeah it was 38 degrees and windy up there!
“This was not your routine field expedition” Not a good idea to go on a field expedition with floor shine zipper boots!
Wish I could have taken more pictures of the scenery but the climb was pretty steep, narrow as all hell and my nuts frozen!
Had to make a pit stop at the Getty Museum and get my sophisticated on.
Great view of all of LA from the observation deck.
Was met by Steph’s family while touring the Museum. This little guy is a trip.
The famous picture of the Hollywood sign from the Observatory.
This place was pretty cool. If your ever in LA area by some luck pay a visit to LACMA. If your a big movie buff your recognize this right away.
Heart attack waiting to happen. The Counter is a must. The shakes are bar nun the best I have ever had… I’m even going out on a limb and saying they are 10 times better the “Robert Is Here” for you SOFLO gent and gals.
Burger is a build it yourself dal. I checked off the 3 meat food group.
The Chinese Theater
King of Pop… no comment
Spent my last night in the Grove walking around doing the tourist thing. Defiantly SoCal was in the Christmas spirit.
Didn’t get to go to the Fucking Catalina Wine Mixer… I had a great time… Stay tuned for a little montage I am putting together and my next trip! Port Land here we come! So long and far well SoCal…..
