I have recently been looking around at different cameras to capture some of the incredible things I see on the kayak. With the upcoming season looking promising I am stoked about getting some jumps, eats and tails on video. I decided to go with the Drift. They are the rival to the go pro helmet cam. You can look at the features and specs here
Here are a few features I am stoked about-
– A playback screen for lining up shots and the ability to play back the footage right away
– Maximum Video Resolution: 1080p High Definition
– Remote Control: Wireless RF (5m range) Hands Free Video and Photo
– Still Photo: 5 megapixel with Photoburst Mode
– Water Resistant
The 170 degree fish eye look makes the videos look cool. I got the camera in the mail last night. I only had about an hour before work today but I managed to get something on video. The peacocks were not cooperating on the fly because they were so deep and my flies were not heavy enough. I stopped by the Fly Shop of Miami and picked a few up since then. I got two to cooperate on spin. I just wore a strap over my hat for walking the canals. As for the dangling hook in the video I was carrying a spare crankbait in my teeth. I have two mounts on my kayak ready to go. Be sure to view it in 720HD or 1080HD to see the quality. This was not edited just uploaded directly from the camera. Not a great video but some sure good ones to come!
